About TheoryLane

Last updated: July 2026

Our mission

TheoryLane helps migrant workers and learners prepare for Singapore and Japan driving theory tests in a language they understand — English, Myanmar (Unicode), or Japanese.

We built the app because official materials are often hard to access abroad, and many learners need bilingual explanations alongside realistic practice.

What you can do here

Study by topic with lesson mode, drill weak areas in practice mode, and sit timed mock tests that mirror real exam formats.

Singapore: BTT, FTT, and RTT. Japan: car and motorcycle theory. Resources include sign guides, handbooks, FAQs, and cost breakdowns.

Independent study tool

TheoryLane is not affiliated with the Singapore Traffic Police, Japan's National Police Agency, CDCs, or any driving school. All questions and illustrations are original study material — not copied from official exams.

Always confirm rules, fees, and booking steps with the relevant authority or driving centre.

Premium & support

A free tier lets you try the platform daily. Premium unlocks unlimited mock tests and removes ads.

For payment help, bugs, or content feedback, email us or use the Report issue form — we read every message.

Who we built this for

TheoryLane started because Myanmar workers in Singapore and Japan were studying from screenshots, group-chat PDFs, and English papers they could not parse after a long shift. We wanted a phone-first practice tool with pictures on every question and explanations in Myanmar Unicode — not Zawgyi — plus English and Japanese.

The site is a study aid. It does not issue licences, book test slots, or represent any government. Booking still happens on OneMotoring in Singapore or at a designated driving school / licence centre in Japan.

How the practice content is made

Questions are written as original study items. We do not copy official exam papers. Illustrations are original or licensed study art. When a number such as a speed limit or fee appears, we treat it as publicly known information and tell you to confirm with the authority because fees change.

A person reviews Myanmar and Japanese wording before it goes live. If you spot a translation that would confuse a learner, use the Report issue form. We read those reports.
